This trap lid turns a standard mason or canning jar into a reusable fruit fly and gnat catcher. It is a refillable alternative to disposable sticky traps that keeps working season after season.

Screw the lid onto the jar and it drops a one-way inverted cone inside. Add a splash of apple cider vinegar or some fruit scraps, set the jar near the counter, compost bin, or fruit bowl, and flies follow the scent down through the opening and cannot find their way back out. Empty it whenever you like.
