The curved back matches the Dutch lap profile, and the flat front gives the camera a level mounting surface. The mounting plate is fully supported and the lens stays square to the doorway. It is designed for the standard Eufy 2K doorbell body, so the doorbell lines up with the flat front of the wedge.
